Barcelona and Montserrat Monastery

Spain does not require cruise passengers to stay together while ashore as Italy does (or attempts to).

Although we only had a few hours ashore, Terri and I wanted to see the Montserrat Monastery located outside Barcelona high on a hill top. This was going to take some research and patience!

I did my best to plan our route: catch the local bus to the metro, the metro to the train, train to the foot of Mount Montserrat and a cable car to the monastery. Then, view the monastery and hike to some nearby crosses perched on overlooks and then reverse the plan to get back to the ship before it leaves port! Not a simple task but we made it with time enough for much needed Sangria and tapas on Las Ramblas during the return!

  3. If you see my granddaughter in Barcelona, let me know. She is there for a month during her gap year studying Spanish. She absolutely loves it. Love,love, love your pictures🥰
