After 30+ years of working in the financial services industry, I finally talked Terri into retiring!!!
So with our dog, Levi, farmed-out and the house rented out for the duration of our trip, we will hit the European roads, beaches, mountains, rivers and trails for the next 80 days.
We start with a brief stopover in Boston, (yes I know – Boston is not in Europe) and then on to:
- Azores
- Portugal
- Spain
- France
- Italy
- Slovenia
- Croatia
- Montenegro
- Greece
- and return through Italy.
As we did in Asia, we will travel by all means available with only a backpack each for our luggage. If you look at our pictures, we will likely be wearing the same clothes over and over again. Most of our lodging will be in Airbnb rentals (with a washer & dryer for obvious reasons). We really enjoy the Airbnb experience, if you have not tried it – you should.
When we did our last extended trip to Asia, there were many times we felt rushed – only spending a night or two in any one spot. This trip we are trying to spend at least three nights at each stop and travelling shorter distances between stops.
If you are going to be in Europe this summer or fall, and you think that our trails might cross, email or text us and let’s meet. We already have dinner plans with friends in Hvar, Croatia
