Cascais, a warm reprieve

We were late in booking accommodations in both Cascais and Sintra. Being late in the season I was confident that we could find good accommodations, probably discounted, since it was last minute. Terri worked on Sintra while I worked on Cascais.

There were ample places in both cities and I chose the Evolution Hotel in Cascais, very nice and pretty reasonable.

The view south from our room in Cascais, the Evolution Hotel
The view north from the pool deck.

We asked for restaurant recommendations from the concierge but after checking their ratings, menus and prices, I found a more “locals” place away from the water, Churrasqueira do Viveiro. The food was great!

Guess which one Terri ordered? She was laughing at her meal,”French fries, rice and beans?” No shortage of carbs on these plates!

After dinner, Terri wanted a digestive since we had Uber’d back from the restaurant and we had missed our normal post-dinner walk home.

Nothing like a Caprioska and an Espresso Martini at our rooftop bar to complete the evening.

The next day was clear and sunny, and after going to the hotel gym we headed across the street to the beach. 🏖️ It was nice and warm and I had a very short swim in the ocean, but we also wanted to try the hotel pool. We were not going to get our usual 15k to 20k steps in today. 😂

Not too shabby, I bet the place Terri finds in Sintra doesn’t have a rooftop pool!

Tomorrow, mystical Sintra.
